Networking & Motivational Consulting
Comments from recent seminar attendees:
Hi Ricky.......I read your 7 Habits presentation while sitting quietly at the Chevy dealership this morning (I've found that "where and how" you read great writings is important) and it was absolutely excellent!! I will be handing it out personally to each of our staff, including my partner.

Mr. Steele,
Thanks again for the presentation. You obviously went the extra mile to pull together the copy for those of us who could not attend. I especially enjoyed the bonus points section.
Based on the presentation, I'd imagine Proverbs 11:25 would be a decent description of who you are: "A generous man will prosper; he who refreshes others will himself be refreshed."
Thanks for the refreshment!

Ricky,
I can't thank you enough for your email. Oddly enough, I was feeling a bit down about work today, and your email uplifted me and encouraged me to stop feeling sorry for myself and get moving- doing something more productive and meaningful instead of wasting precious time. To be honest with you, your email actually made me cry, but in a very good way. I get so excited when I meet people who live and work by the same philosophy that I do, and you seem to be one of those people. I was a high school teacher for 5 years and then chose to move into sales a little over 2 years ago. Most days I love what I do, but some days it is very difficult. Again, I can thank you enough for you email, you are an incredibly special person; I can just tell.

Ricky:
Of course I was only one of about two hundred at King & Spaulding this morning that enjoyed your talk.
Thank you particularly for the last two points in your talk this morning. Clearly they are central to you. Just as clearly, the rest of us need to be reminded of them. I hope it will mean something to you to know that I tried to be a better person for the balance of this day as a direct result of your thoughts and words this morning. Whether I succeeded, only the Lord knows, but that I tried is because of you. Thank you again.

Hi Ricky,
It was a pleasure to listen to you once again this morning, as you shared your secrets to successful networking. I couldn't agree more that one receives through giving first and your words continue to inspire us all.

Ricky,
Great job this morning!
I want to share with you my "Ricky Steele story" with you. You might want to start collecting these.
In January 2000, I had recently moved back to Atlanta after living in San Diego for 12 years. My former partners and I were in the process of selling my previous company and I was thinking of launching a new technology start-up - this time on my own.
Peter Fish was advising me and said the first thing I should do is have breakfast with Ricky Steele. We met at the White House in Buckhead. I was apprehensive and somewhat lacking in confidence about the idea of launching the business - I think the typical fear of failure. You patiently listened to me pitch the concept over breakfast.
When I was done, you said you didn't understand much of what I said, but could tell that I had intense passion for the idea. You said I should go for it and you would help wherever you could. That simple act gave me the boost I needed and I never lost faith or confidence in the idea. The business climate has been brutal and the company is still struggling, but what an experience it's been!
I never got the chance to thank you. I'll never forget what you did for me. Even if it was just to sit and listen for an hour to a complete stranger.

Ricky,
Just wanted to send you a note to let you know your talk this morning was very inspiring to me. I've done a lot of refocusing in my life over the past couple of years, and I've found also that to love others and to serve are the foundations that make for a great life. To hear you reaffirm this warmed my heart today and reenergized me again.
Thanks,

Ricky,
As I walked back to the capitol this am, I found myself thinking happy thoughts and finding new ways to consider my "adversaries" under the gold dome. All due to your inspirational words this morning.
Good job!

I just want to thank you for your notes from your recent presentation at The Goizueta Business School. I was not at this years' presentation as I graduated in May but, I did have the pleasure of attending your previous presentation in 2001. Recently I logged on to Goizueta's e-mail system and saw your document "Seven Habits of Highly Effective Networkers". It was very helpful to review your information, especially as I am currently in Denver looking for a job!
Thank you very much for taking the time to record your presentation. I refer to your notes often as a process check and for inspiration!
Sincerely,
